Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead by designing, architecting, and overseeing team projects.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases across customer environments and geographies.
- Design and implement automated builds, testing, deployment, rollback strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and release workflows.
- Build and maintain quality gates and validation frameworks for release readiness.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, customer support, and product teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues and assist with root cause analysis.
- Manage and optimize infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and vSphere environments.
- Create runbooks and documentation for internal teams and end users.
- Ensure security and regulatory compliance during deployments.
- Improve team processes through automation focused on efficiency, reliability, and quality.
- Evaluate and implement relevant technologies and tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to intra-team and inter-team planning.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack software engineer.
- Strong experience building production-grade applications across frontend and backend technologies.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Go and Python; React experience is a bonus.
- Experience designing and building REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, including tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation, and configuration management tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2 and ECS, plus cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, subnetting, routing, CDNs, load balancers, and security groups.
- Experience with Azure cloud services and platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bazel, focused on cloud deployment.
- Experience with build tools and systems such as Make and Bazel.
- Expertise in release automation and orchestration frameworks and tools.
- Experience with code quality and security tools such as SonarQube.
- Strong understanding of release engineering principles and best practices.
- Strong system design, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence engineering decisions across teams.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and executing deployment plans, release plans, MOPs, and rollback procedures for production environments.
- Proficiency across Windows, Linux, and macOS, including Intel and ARM platforms.
- Experience leading an Agile/Scrum team.
- Experience owning or orchestrating large-scale or enterprise software releases.
- Preferred experience debugging network or endpoint device logs.
- Preferred experience delivering and deploying cloud-based and endpoint software.
- Preferred experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, or Datadog.
