Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve shared platform systems for approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications.
- Design scalable architectures with strong state management, data integrity, backward compatibility, and performance.
- Lead and decompose complex projects into actionable technical tasks and safe migration paths.
- Build performant backend code in Ruby on Rails and optimize PostgreSQL data models and SQL queries.
- Collaborate with product teams, product managers, and subject matter experts that consume platform services.
- Review code, mentor engineers, improve engineering practices, and participate in the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Strong experience building production web applications and APIs, ideally with Ruby on Rails.
- Strong architectural judgment and experience working with shared, cross-team infrastructure.
- Experience on a platform, infrastructure, or enablement team building systems consumed by other teams.
- Ability to drive ambiguous work independently and collaborate across product teams.
- Experience writing, analyzing, and optimizing SQL queries; PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with approval workflows, role-based access control, Auth0, session management, or multi-tenant SaaS is preferred.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants and beginning to build AI-enabled agents or MCP servers.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working with Agile/Scrum-style planning.
