Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and improve highly available Java microservices and backend services.
- Own complex features from technical design through production operation and continuous improvement.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues involving distributed systems, messaging, performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Establish engineering standards for code quality, automated testing, security, maintainability, and technical debt management.
- Lead design reviews and code reviews while maintaining architectural integrity.
- Mentor engineers and share knowledge across backend development, DevOps, testing, cloud operations, and software engineering practices.
- Contribute to technical direction, product design, and engineering culture within a newly established team.
- Help adopt AI-assisted development capabilities responsibly.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including REST APIs, automated testing, and production-grade backend services.
- Solid knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, SaaS applications, multi-tenancy, observability, endurance, and high-availability systems.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems that process high volumes of transactions and data.
- Proficiency with relational databases, SQL optimization, data modeling, and performance-focused data access patterns.
- Functional experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated deployments, and cloud operations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, engineering standards, and mentoring.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills for working across globally distributed teams.
