Base Salary
$152k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the long-term technical direction for the ACM configuration platform, including architecture, technology investments, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Lead complex technical initiatives spanning configuration delivery, disaster recovery, fleet management, and platform reliability.
- Establish standards for code quality, system design, observability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and coaching.
- Own production reliability by providing technical judgment during major incidents and designing systems that reduce operational burden.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of related experience, or master’s degree plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years.
- Experience building and operating large-scale production systems with fluency in Go and/or Python.
- Experience designing resilient, scalable distributed systems in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or GovCloud.
- Experience using configuration and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Puppet, Terraform, or Ansible at scale.
- Experience leading major technical initiatives and influencing engineering direction beyond immediate teams.
- Preferred experience includes production observability, incident management, capacity planning, continuous delivery, Kubernetes, container orchestration, internal platforms, security, compliance, regulated cloud environments, and open-source contributions.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical topics and building alignment across stakeholders.
