Base Salary
$130k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and iterate on software solutions from prototypes through production systems.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, product partners, and engineers to explore ideas and technical approaches.
- Work across varied technologies, languages, and frameworks based on the problem space.
- Evaluate and apply emerging technologies, including AI/ML and generative AI, where they provide value.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and help establish engineering practices.
- Support architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to less senior engineers.
- Contribute to technical discovery, experimentation, and rapid learning.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong general software engineering experience with the ability to work across different technology stacks.
- Experience designing and building modern applications, services, or platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems and modern development workflows.
- Experience developing or integrating generative AI applications.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them thoughtfully.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments.
- Pragmatic judgment about when to prototype quickly versus engineer for scale.
- Strong grounding in security, privacy, and accessibility principles, especially when handling sensitive or regulated data.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Candidates must be located in the DMV area and able to participate in in-office collaboration.
- Certain roles may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or security clearance.
- Bonus qualifications include experience in innovation, R&D, labs, or exploratory engineering teams; deeper expertise in frontend, backend, data, ML, or DevOps; and experience contributing to architectural discussions or technical strategy.
