Responsibilities
- Own major software features and application areas from design through deployment.
- Design scalable permission systems that manage access to terabytes of data across thousands of organizations.
- Build controls for deciding what data to share, when to share it, and with whom.
- Architect secure collaboration frameworks that maintain data sovereignty and compliance.
- Create advanced data-sharing mechanisms that balance openness and security.
- Collaborate with design, product management, deployment teams, engineers, and users to solve complex problems.
- Write robust, well-tested, well-designed code and deploy software components to users.
- Design and scale distributed software systems across a large, evolving codebase.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of experience working with cross-functional software development teams.
- Professional or open-source experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software components.
- Ability to write robust, well-tested, and well-designed production code.
- Solid understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems.
- Strong modern software development practices and comfort navigating large codebases.
- Excellent technical vision and ability to translate product requests into reliable software components.
- Located in Washington, D.C. and open to working in an office.
- Demonstrated ownership, collaboration, creativity, perseverance, and comfort with ambiguity.
