Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack software for critical software initiatives, particularly those supporting Department of Defense and Intelligence Community contracts.
- Build and operate distributed backend services, cloud systems, APIs, data pipelines, and radar task orchestration capabilities.
- Translate stakeholder and customer needs into engineering requirements and participate in design and requirements discussions.
- Ensure reliability, observability, security, and performance across production systems.
- Own critical systems and services through the full development lifecycle, including operation, monitoring, and on-call support.
- Use generative AI to improve software quality and security and influence the Cloud Software team's technical direction.
Requirements
- Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance and experience delivering missions for Department of Defense or Intelligence Community customers.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience building cloud-based systems at scale.
- Demonstrated experience building, deploying, and operating distributed backend services.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
- Understanding of architecture patterns, service boundaries, message-driven workflows, and API design.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments and containerized deployments.
- Expertise with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL and message brokers such as Kafka or SQS.
- Experience with observability and CI/CD practices and willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
- Preferred qualifications include TypeScript or JavaScript frontend experience, Kubernetes experience, U.S. federal systems deployment, AI/ML or orbital mechanics background, and experience in high-availability or mission-critical environments.
- Must be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State ITAR authorizations.
