Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Scope, design, build, and iterate on complete product modules from architecture through shipped UI.
- Design and evolve agentic AI systems across Slack bots, terminal interfaces, web surfaces, and vendor integrations.
- Build LLM-agent-compatible features using MCP/FastMCP servers and conversational interfaces.
- Move pricing and business logic into backend services to preserve financial accuracy.
- Extend and maintain a typed pricing ontology using Pydantic models.
- Lead architectural reviews and establish testing, observability, deployment, and performance-monitoring practices.
- Mentor peers, influence product strategy, and shape engineering culture and best practices.
- Perform root-cause analysis for production issues and treat money-handling code as critical infrastructure.
- Contribute to an AI-native software development lifecycle with agent-assisted coding and automated review gates.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of full product areas at startup or staff-level scope.
- Deep production backend experience with FastAPI, Python, and MongoDB or a comparable stack.
- Ability to design versioned REST/GraphQL APIs and independently ship polished React and TypeScript UIs.
- Experience taking ambiguous customer problems through shipped features without a dedicated product manager.
- Experience with B2B SaaS monetization concepts such as pricing models, packaging, quoting, billing, or CPQ.
- Experience building or integrating AI-assisted features and agent-driven workflows, including LLM interfaces and tool-use endpoints.
- Strong standards for correctness, especially in financial logic.
- Experience building MCP servers or LLM-agent tooling is preferred.
- Billing, CPQ, metering, or usage-based pricing experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with SOC2/GDPR-compliant development practices is preferred.
- Prior experience as a technical founder or early employee shipping a 0-to-1 B2B product to paying customers is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
