Base Salary
$119k - $217k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-throughput backend services for the AdServer and Exchange platform, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Implement and improve real-time bidding and auction logic and integrate demand and supply partners.
- Own features end-to-end from scope and architecture through implementation, deployment, observability, and operational health.
- Partner with Staff Engineers, architects, and Product on platform design, ad formats, and monetization capabilities.
- Contribute to monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
- Use AI coding tools for analysis, coding, refactoring, testing, codebase navigation, and documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and help establish standards for code quality, testing, engineering practices, and AI-assisted workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of backend engineering experience with strong proficiency in Java and multithreaded system design.
- Experience building or operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in production.
- Understanding of data consistency, performance trade-offs, and database fundamentals.
- Comfort working in cloud-native environments, ideally AWS.
- Familiarity with AdTech concepts such as real-time bidding, auctions, and supply/demand integrations is preferred.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs or partner systems is preferred.
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to engineers and product managers.
- Openness to agentic workflows and AI-assisted development, including Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
