Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
- Build event-driven systems with Kafka for real-time processing and inter-service communication.
- Deploy, manage, and scale applications using ECS, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Design, secure, and manage scalable APIs using Apigee.
- Use Devin, Claude Code, and Citi AI platforms to write, debug, optimize, and improve software.
- Work with backend databases including Oracle PL/SQL and MongoDB.
- Mentor junior developers on modern software development and effective use of AI tools.
- Apply Spring Security and enterprise security standards.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, performance testing, CI/CD, and production support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/DevOps environment.
Requirements
- More than eight years of enterprise application development experience using Java/J2EE technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience using AI-powered coding assistants and internal AI platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 1.8 or later, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.
- Practical knowledge of microservice architecture, event-driven design, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Proven experience with Kafka and cloud application deployment.
- Hands-on experience with ECS, Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Working knowledge of Apigee API gateway management.
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and/or MongoDB.
- Experience with CI/CD toolchains including Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Artifactory, and Jira.
- Experience with testing methodologies, mocking frameworks, JUnit, and performance testing.
- Familiarity with Redis is highly desirable.
- Basic Unix/Linux knowledge, including shell scripting.
- Willingness to work late in the evening India time as needed to interact with US onshore teams and meet urgent client requests.
