Base Salary
$126k - $171k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design scalable systems, software integration patterns, and architecturally impactful solution components.
- Drive modernization, platform technology strategy, engineering standards, reusable patterns, and technology roadmaps.
- Coordinate system and subsystem design across multiple product and engineering teams.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend software platforms, tools, frameworks, libraries, and vendor solutions.
- Lead resolution of critical incidents and improve software stability, scalability, resilience, deployment, and build processes.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, training, and demos to engineers across experience levels.
- Partner with product owners on technical user stories, application specifications, standards, diagrams, and implementation planning.
- Recruit and develop engineering talent through interviews, panels, technology-community engagement, and talent leadership activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering environments translating abstract concepts into detailed software engineering plans and delivery.
- Experience architecting software solutions with performance SLOs, high availability, reliability, and security requirements.
- Understanding of data and system integration patterns and technologies.
- Proficiency in managing large-scale projects.
- Strong conceptual, critical-thinking, technical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present technical documentation and complex ideas to senior management and broad audiences.
- Preferred: master’s degree in a related field, financial services industry experience, and experience coaching or mentoring team members.
