Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of scalable, secure, highly available distributed systems and define long-term technical roadmaps.
- Influence architecture and technology decisions across multiple teams, platforms, services, and business domains.
- Investigate and resolve critical production issues and complex cross-team technical challenges.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and engineering practices to improve platform capabilities and efficiency.
- Drive improvements in reliability, performance, scalability, observability, automation, testing, security, and operational excellence.
- Establish engineering standards, architectural best practices, design principles, and software delivery improvements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers, managers, and organizational leaders.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building and delivering complex software systems.
- Experience designing and developing modern web applications, APIs, and services.
- Strong experience with Java, Angular version 12+, REST APIs, SQL, Git, and third-party integrations.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale technical initiatives and influencing engineering strategy.
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, system architecture, software design patterns, fault tolerance, security, performance optimization, and functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience building and operating highly available production systems, with knowledge of observability, reliability engineering, incident management, and performance monitoring.
- Strong mentoring, communication, collaboration, technical influence, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Preferred experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Angular 12+, SQL, Git, AWS services, cloud-native application design, microservices architecture, SaaS platforms, and enterprise-scale customer engagement platforms.
- Preferred experience supporting online learning, education technology, or digital learning environments.
- A master’s degree or PhD and relevant cloud, architecture, or software engineering certifications are additional preferred qualifications.
