Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver scalable, maintainable, optimized, and secure software solutions.
- Build high-performance applications that process large amounts of data using distributed computing and big data technologies.
- Use Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Python or Scala, AWS services, Apache Spark, and Hadoop components in solution development.
- Work directly with end users and business analysts to elicit requirements and complete design and implementation.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders on requirements, architecture, integration, and business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, structured testing, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to solution design and architecture and support DevOps and automation activities.
- Analyze complex information, communicate technical matters, influence stakeholders, and manage risks and controls.
- Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through complex work where applicable.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on development experience with Core Java, Java 17 or later, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in Python or Scala and experience with Apache Spark or other big data processing frameworks.
- Hands-on AWS experience with S3, EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Athena, data pipelines, and Step Functions.
- Experience with distributed computing architecture and Hadoop components including HDFS, Spark, YARN, Hive, Impala, and HyperCube, plus expertise in HQL.
- Experience gathering requirements from end users and business analysts and delivering designs and implementations.
- Experience with Agile SAFe methodology, software development practices, version control tools such as Git, and structured testing.
- Strong communication skills across varied levels and capabilities.
- Preferred experience in investment banking or risk, or willingness and capacity to learn relevant financial concepts.
- Preferred experience with DevOps automation and CI/CD using TeamCity, Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of microservices and Kafka is preferred.
