Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain back-end functionality for Disney’s bespoke e-commerce platform and marketing microsites.
- Build new features in ASP.NET MVC 5 and migrate legacy Classic ASP functionality to the modern platform.
- Write maintainable, scalable, and fault-tolerant code using SOLID principles, object-oriented design patterns, and test-driven development.
- Manage development tools, environments, version control, deployment workflows, and automated build processes.
- Troubleshoot application errors, database and performance bottlenecks, and other technical issues.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver complex solutions and meet project milestones.
- Research technologies and development techniques that can improve future business offerings.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of digital experience and a strong digital portfolio.
- Professional development experience in a client-side or agency-side role; bespoke e-commerce application experience is highly desirable.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a STEM or Computer Science discipline.
- Strong C# and ASP.NET MVC 5 development skills.
- Solid experience with SOAP web services and RESTful web APIs.
- Competence with SQL Server and T-SQL queries.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and automated build services such as GitLab, TeamCity, or Cake.
- Practical understanding of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and client-side technologies.
- Experience with unit-testing frameworks such as NUnit or Moq.
- Experience with Git and Gitflow source-code management; Atlassian SourceTree experience is desirable.
- Experience with issue-tracking software such as Jira and Agile development methodology.
- Understanding of application and database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with .NET ORMs such as Entity Framework, enterprise CMS platforms such as SDL Tridion, IoC containers such as Autofac or Ninject, and tools such as beanstalk app or DeployBot is beneficial.
- Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
