Responsibilities
- Maintain, operate, and evolve the SASS-C surveillance system performance analysis platform at EUROCONTROL.
- Provide technical support, architectural oversight, and long-term sustainability for the surveillance system.
- Reverse engineer and maintain legacy C++ systems.
- Manage software builds and CI/CD automation using Jenkins for C++ compilation and testing workflows.
- Install and configure the product, validate and accept new software versions, and perform scripting and advanced configuration.
- Apply surveillance data reconstruction, filtering, state-estimation, tracking, and mathematical analysis techniques.
- Support system validation using simulated trajectories or synthetic data and diagnose complex algorithmic issues.
- Contribute to software testing, documentation, robustness, performance, maintainability, and controlled use of AI-assisted development techniques.
Requirements
- Completed Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent university qualification.
- At least 3 years of experience in the ATM Surveillance domain.
- Proven experience reverse engineering legacy C++.
- Proven experience in software build management and CI/CD automation using Jenkins for C++ applications.
- Proficient English communication at C1 level or equivalent for written and spoken technical documentation; 5 years of international-environment work may be accepted as equivalent proof for the language requirement.
- Desirable: PhD in Computer Science or Engineering focused on surveillance data processing, multi-sensor data fusion, or trajectory analysis.
- Desirable: Scientific publications in data fusion or tracking algorithms.
- Desirable: Experience with AI and machine learning for engineering data analysis or automation.
- Desirable: Experience with simulated trajectories, synthetic data generation, mathematical modeling, statistical analysis, C++ unit testing, integration testing, documentation as code, Git-based documentation, legacy maintenance, and modernization.
