
Software Engineering & Development, Officer
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Design, build, and manage Databricks workflows, pipelines, and data ingestion solutions.
- Develop and maintain containerized applications and batch jobs using Docker.
- Write shell scripts and automate operational tasks and data workflows.
- Apply relational database design, data modeling, and efficient data storage and retrieval practices to structured and unstructured datasets.
- Write unit tests and automation scripts, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver scalable engineering solutions.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket, and GitHub.
- Review processes, recommend improvements, and maintain technical and functional documentation.
- Lead projects with minimal guidance and take ownership of deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience.
- 7+ years of experience in technology and/or data functions in financial services or consulting.
- Experience establishing data strategies and implementing data transformations.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark architecture, workflows, data pipelines, and applications.
- Experience developing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Python-based applications such as Streamlit on Databricks or similar cloud platforms.
- Hands-on development experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and shell scripting.
- Exposure to AWS cloud platforms and services.
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL frameworks, and distributed data processing.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Artifactory, Jenkins, and Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of Snowflake and AWS Iceberg or Apache Iceberg is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with business, development, QA, and operations teams.
