Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build resilient ETL and reconciliation services that ingest, validate, transform, and deduplicate monthly datasets.
- Design relational schemas, staging layers, transactional data integrity, immutable audit logs, and optimized SQL queries.
- Collaborate on React/TypeScript frontend integrations, data grids, curation drawers, and bulk Excel upload workflows.
- Use Devin, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor for prototyping, scaffolding, testing, and engineering productivity.
- Maintain unit, integration, and automated test coverage using JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, code reviews, and secure coding practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, make architectural decisions, and collaborate with distributed teams across India, the UK, and the US.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of hands-on software development experience focused on Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with RESTful API design, microservice architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Deep expertise in relational databases, SQL, schema design, indexing, transactions, and performance tuning with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
- Experience building data ingestion, transformation, or batch-processing pipelines.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
- Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins or Tekton, Docker, and Linux.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, communicate effectively in English, and collaborate across distributed teams.
- Understanding of secure coding, data governance, and enterprise security standards.
- React, TypeScript, modern frontend SPAs, Excel file processing, autonomous AI engineering agents, AI-assisted coding tools, Kafka, or MQ are preferred.
