Base Salary
$192k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production AI-powered systems and agentic experiences such as Cart Assistant and voice AI.
- Build foundational AI systems spanning embedding infrastructure, voice AI pipelines, client-facing components, and integrations.
- Integrate foundation models through APIs and open-source frameworks and apply retrieval-augmented generation and vector search.
- Own projects end to end from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iterative improvement.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, ML, and Infrastructure teams to deliver AI features.
- Drive engineering excellence through system design, code review, technical leadership, and AI/ML production-engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Proven senior software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating production systems at scale.
- Hands-on production AI or ML experience, including shipping LLM-powered features or integrating foundation-model APIs into a live product.
- Experience owning services end to end, including automated testing, observability, CI/CD, and on-call participation.
- Experience with Golang, Python, or TypeScript.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: 5 to 8+ years of industry experience.
- Preferred: experience taking unconventional ideas from prototype through rapid iteration to production.
- Preferred: experience with conversational agents, multi-turn dialogue systems, or agentic LLM applications.
- Preferred: experience with STT/TTS, natural language interfaces, LLM fine-tuning, transfer learning, model training, and model-performance measurement.
- Preferred: experience with embedding systems, vector search, or retrieval-augmented generation using vector databases.
- Preferred: experience with AWS or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven or distributed systems such as Kafka.
- Preferred: demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership within cross-functional teams.
