Responsibilities
- Improve storefront frontend performance for global merchants through paid professional-services engagements.
- Debug complex INP issues using DevTools, Synthetic solutions, and RUM solutions.
- Provide merchants with best-practice advice, technical direction, and proof of concepts.
- Improve Web Performance professional-services processes and tooling.
- Scale engagement learnings across Shopify to benefit all merchants.
- Create web-performance thought leadership through speaking and blog content.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide technical and product feedback to internal teams.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience improving frontend performance on large websites.
- Expert-level experience debugging performance issues using DevTools, Synthetic, and RUM solutions.
- Ability to debug complex INP issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with enterprise merchants.
- Comfort navigating and using GitHub.
- Comfort sharing knowledge through speaking engagements and blog writing.
- Enjoyment of investigating and solving complex performance issues.
- React or Remix experience is preferred.
- Experience with Liquid or Shopify storefronts is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source web-performance tools or standards are preferred.
