Responsibilities
- Maintain, extend, and improve the NFS implementation.
- Design and develop system software in C/C++ under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Define and communicate detailed technical designs.
- Deliver full application development from design through development, testing, and deployment.
- Participate in technical reviews throughout development.
- Architect and troubleshoot system-level components, especially file system and storage system components.
- Conduct research-based technical tasks, document results, derive conclusions, and design solutions based on findings.
- Mentor junior developers.
- Support product deployment and resolve production defects in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with teams and individuals worldwide to learn DDN products, technology, setup, and configuration.
- Integrate monitoring, health-check, and alerting capabilities around the product.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of system software development and complex problem-resolution experience.
- Expert knowledge of C and C++.
- Excellent Linux development and deployment skills, including file system development.
- Strong understanding of operating system principles and kernel procedures.
- Experience with open-source development tools including gcc, gdb, g++, and git.
- Experience designing and developing parallel programs.
- Understanding of Linux file systems.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, collaboration, motivation, and self-direction.
- Preferred knowledge of user-space I/O frameworks such as FUSE and SPDK.
- Preferred understanding of RDMA network principles, libfabric, zero-copy, and verbs.
- Preferred knowledge of performance engineering.
- Preferred experience with complex network programming, TCP/IP, or RDMA.
- Preferred experience working with Scrum.
