Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the Python pricing and decision engine deployed on AWS.
- Implement scoring models, pricing rules, offer grids, modifiers, rates, fees, and offer sizing.
- Lead and mentor engineers, set architecture and coding standards, review risky changes, and direct team delivery.
- Ensure the correctness, auditability, versioning, and quality of data stored in DynamoDB and S3.
- Build reconciliation, validation, monitoring, and quality checks for pricing and analytics systems.
- Design, run, and analyze A/B tests for pricing strategies and maintain experiment-data integrity.
- Integrate the engine with sales, CRM, credit, and bank-data platforms.
- Maintain production reliability, observability, health dashboards, deployment workflows, and incident response.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, DevOps, Data Engineering, Data Science, and QA.
- Integrate machine-learning models into production and build analytics applications, reporting tools, and decision-support products as the role grows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional Python development building and maintaining production applications and services.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers, setting standards, reviewing code, and directing a small team’s work.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs with FastAPI, Flask, or similar technologies.
- Hands-on production AWS experience with ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, SQS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
- Experience designing DynamoDB access patterns, handling schema and type changes, and managing versioned S3 data such as Parquet and partitioned datasets.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort with relational and NoSQL data, CSV files, and Parquet datasets.
- Experience with business-logic-heavy applications where correctness of scorecards, reference files, and configuration data is critical.
- Familiarity with Pydantic or similar data-modeling and validation frameworks, plus reconciliation and QA checks.
- Hands-on experience integrating machine-learning or analytical model outputs into production, including feature engineering and scoring logic.
- Experience designing or supporting A/B tests and experimentation, including stratification and clean experiment data.
- Strong communication, cross-team collaboration, self-direction, and end-to-end system ownership.
- Comfort using modern AI and LLM tools to improve development efficiency.
- Preferred experience in financial services, lending, or pricing systems; Salesforce or HubSpot APIs; Docker and ECS deployments; dbt or Airflow; Next.js and TypeScript; AI infrastructure and agents; or MLflow and SageMaker.
