Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Review other developers’ code for style, accuracy, testability, efficiency, and best practices.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions.
- Improve the BigQuery engine by removing bottlenecks for low-latency queries and designing maintainable, extensible solutions.
- Work with the BigQuery and Dremel codebases, primarily using C++, with Java in control planes and Python for tests.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and 1 year of software design and architecture experience.
- At least 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or working with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Experience programming in C++.
- Experience with database internals and query processing.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: CUDA or similar GPU programming experience.
- Preferred: Experience with low-level systems implementation, performance analysis and optimization, scalability, database internals, C++ query-processing algorithms and data structures on GPUs, and cross-functional performance improvement projects.
Benefits
- US base pay of $174000 - $252000, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
