Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews and evaluate technology options with peers and stakeholders.
- Review code and provide feedback on style, accuracy, testability, efficiency, and other engineering best practices.
- Contribute to and update documentation or educational content based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage, debug, track, and resolve product or system issues by analyzing their sources and operational impact.
- Develop query optimization improvements for BigQuery, including algebraic SQL enhancements and materialized views.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, or storage.
- Experience programming in C++.
- Experience with distributed systems and debugging.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Experience shipping mission-critical code with high-performance and correctness requirements.
- Preferred: Experience debugging the performance of multi-node distributed systems.
- Preferred: Domain knowledge of SQL database query processing and query optimization.
