Responsibilities
- Lead technical design for new agent capabilities from ambiguous product intent through production delivery.
- Build and operate end-to-end services from event triggers through LLM reasoning to persisted and surfaced results.
- Extend the shared agent framework, including orchestration, tool use, structured generation, and observability.
- Design and tune RAG and embedding pipelines using vector search in the operational database.
- Create evaluations for agent behaviors and gate prompt changes against evaluation results.

- Set standards through design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and evaluate emerging models and techniques.
- Develop reusable model access, orchestration, evaluation, observability, guardrail, and AI-assisted engineering tooling.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience building large-scale backend or distributed systems in production.
- Experience shipping LLM-powered features to real users and diagnosing production failures.
- Strong TypeScript or Go skills and comfort working across both languages.
- Strong distributed-systems knowledge, including queues, event-driven design, failure modes, and idempotency.
- Sound judgment about which decisions should be made by LLMs versus deterministic code.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical designs across a team.
- Clear communication across engineering, product, and design.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contributions, developer tooling or internal-platform experience, LLM evaluation or observability experience, workflow orchestration experience such as Temporal, regulated-industry AI experience, and production vector-search or embedding-pipeline experience.
