Base Salary
$123k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design of new agent capabilities from product intent through production delivery.
- Build and operate end-to-end AI services from event triggers through LLM reasoning to persisted results.
- Extend the shared agent framework for orchestration, tool use, structured generation, and observability.
- Design and tune RAG and embedding pipelines using vector search in the operational database.
- Create evaluations for agent behaviors and gate prompt changes on evaluation results.
- Own production reliability, including failure classification, idempotency, dead-letter queue handling, and rollout safety.
- Set standards through design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and evaluate emerging models and techniques.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience building large-scale backend or distributed systems in production.
- Experience shipping LLM-powered features to real users and diagnosing production failures.
- Strong TypeScript or Go skills, with comfort working across both languages.
- Strong distributed-systems knowledge, including queues, event-driven design, failure modes, and idempotency.
- Ability to determine which decisions should be made by an LLM versus deterministic code.
- Track record of driving technical designs across a team and communicating clearly across engineering, product, and design.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contributions, developer tooling or internal-platform experience, LLM evaluation or observability experience, Temporal or similar workflow-orchestration experience, regulated-industry AI experience, and production vector-search or embedding-pipeline experience.
