Responsibilities
- Write tested, readable production Java for cloud-native trading APIs.
- Contribute to design discussions and technical decisions.
- Deploy, operate, and debug services in AWS.
- Investigate production issues using logs, metrics, traces, thread dumps, heap dumps, profiling, and JVM diagnostics.
- Own services and support team growth through mentoring and code review.
Requirements
- 7–12 years of professional Java development experience, including hands-on AWS experience.
- Solid commercial Java production experience.
- Strong understanding of JVM runtime behavior, memory management, garbage collection, the Java memory model, threads, concurrency, and multithreading.
- Practical JVM diagnostic skills, including thread and heap dump analysis, GC reasoning, profiling, memory-leak investigation, and contention analysis.
- Experience with the Spring Framework, ideally Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience deploying and debugging real systems in AWS.
- Practical experience using AI coding tools and critically evaluating their output.
- Comfort with Linux and basic shell scripting.
- Curiosity, persistence, and willingness to ask questions and investigate problems deeply.
