Base Salary
$162k - $290k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive technology choices, implement services, and establish architectural patterns with broad and lasting impact on Samsara’s platform.
- Identify platform opportunities and influence technology direction and engineering culture through strategic conversations.
- Architect, design, and develop software that enables Samsara to operate at scale.
- Lead teams and cross-organization projects delivering products and capabilities that contribute to Samsara’s products and revenue.
- Solve difficult technical problems and enable products to reach market quickly with high quality.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and product teams to build platform-first products, tools, and solutions.
- Multiply team impact by elevating the effectiveness and output of other engineers.
- Represent Samsara in external-facing technical forums and champion the company’s cultural principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions, including at least two years in an architect or leadership role.
- At least 4 years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- At least 4 years of experience leading cross-organization projects.
- Strong programming and coding fundamentals.
- Preferred: mastery of data modeling and full-stack application architecture at massive scale.
- Preferred: programming mastery in Go, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C, C++, or similar languages.
- Preferred: expertise with large-scale enterprise software applications and production-quality software delivery.
- Preferred: expert-level knowledge of at-scale stream-processing decision engines.
