Responsibilities
- Design and build test fixtures and develop the software that drives them.
- Develop qualification and reliability rigs to validate performance under years of environmental stress.
- Ensure design changes are qualified before reaching the production line.
- Define testability requirements, test stages, and pass/fail criteria with hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Translate engineering intent into executable qualification, production, and hardware-in-the-loop test specifications.
- Debug failures across mechanical, electrical, and software boundaries by examining schematics, probing test points, and reviewing firmware logs.
- Investigate field failures, identify root causes, and incorporate findings into future testing.
Requirements
- Strong Python experience building maintainable test frameworks, automation systems, or production tooling.
- Ability to write Rust and/or C for direct hardware interfaces, serial protocols, custom test equipment, or embedded targets.
- Broad electronics knowledge, including reading schematics, identifying test points, understanding signal integrity basics, and probing boards for debugging.
- Mechanical intuition for fixtures, enclosures, thermals, and test nests, including specifying fixtures and working with vendors.
- Ability to manage deliverables, communicate status, flag risks, and deliver on schedule.
- Experience working in or closely with a manufacturing or production environment.
