Base Salary

$167k - $251k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for Buyer Cloud User Data platforms and services.
  • Lead architecture and design for scalable systems managing audience, taxonomy, metadata, and identity data.
  • Lead complex engineering initiatives from discovery and design through implementation, rollout, and production support.
  • Design and develop distributed data-processing systems, APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Drive engineering practices covering architecture, coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, release governance, and production readiness.
  • Identify and resolve scalability, reliability, performance, data quality, and cloud cost challenges.
  • Guide technical decisions, facilitate design reviews, and communicate risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and delivery status.
  • Mentor software and data engineers and support complex production issue resolution and root-cause analysis.
  • Balance product delivery with platform modernization, operational improvements, and technical debt reduction.
  • Partner with engineering, product, privacy, identity, revenue science, partnership, and marketing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or developing large-scale data platforms.
  • Experience as a Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer, or in a similar technical leadership role.
  • Strong programming experience with Python and strong SQL skills involving large and complex datasets.
  • Experience designing microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and data-processing platforms.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and production experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD technologies.
  • Ability to lead architecture and design discussions and influence technical decisions across multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, performance, reliability, fault tolerance, and operational support.
  • Experience leading technically complex projects from design through production deployment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and improve engineering practices.
  • Preferred experience with Snowflake, EKS, or Aerospike; ad tech, media, or data-intensive platforms; batch and streaming ingestion; and cloud performance monitoring, observability, or cost optimization.

Benefits

  • Virginia base pay range is $167,383.91-$251,075.87 annually, with additional bonus eligibility for most non-sales positions.
