Base Salary

$115k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Create test plans defining testing strategy, resources, scope, dependencies, and risks for complex software releases.
  • Document, maintain, and execute detailed test cases; identify defects and track test execution status.
  • Perform functional, white-box, and black-box testing for multi-tiered Java and JavaScript systems.
  • Deploy release builds, maintain test environments, and troubleshoot software and hardware configuration problems.
  • Own assigned systems and production releases from a QA perspective in a hands-on capacity.
  • Coordinate test execution, train users, provide user support, and serve as the primary stakeholder contact for assigned functionality.
  • Review business and functional requirements and create corresponding testing strategies and cases.
  • Mentor junior engineers, manage assigned projects, and assist technical and product managers with software requirement evaluation.
  • Identify and implement continuous-improvement opportunities across QA and technology processes.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of overall QA experience in roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative and Computational Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience designing comprehensive functional-testing strategies and test cases.
  • Experience with full-lifecycle development methodologies, testing processes, methodologies, and defect-reporting tools.
  • Ability to perform both white-box and black-box testing.
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries involving searches and mathematical calculations over large datasets; 5+ years of SQL experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of scripting experience using Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with commodity markets, financial trading, equity brokerage, or futures markets preferred.
  • Ability to understand and implement spreadsheets containing financial engineering formulas and create test plans from them.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative finance and clearing-house risk-management concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical, troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
