Responsibilities
- Build and ship production applications using Databricks Apps or suitable alternative frameworks.
- Translate business requirements and user feedback into intuitive, accessible interfaces and interactive data visualisations.
- Own applications from proof of concept through production, including testing, documentation, deployment, performance, and scalability.
- Integrate with REST, GraphQL, MCP, and Data Science-owned data services, including authentication and versioning considerations.
- Define coding standards, testing approaches, documentation practices, and architectural patterns for the team.
- Mentor engineers through hands-on collaboration and promote continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Degree-level qualification in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or extensive professional software engineering experience with strong front-end and full-stack application development.
- Demonstrable experience designing, building, and shipping production-grade applications with React, Vue, Angular, or another modern front-end framework.
- Solid back-end capability integrating APIs and data services, including REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication patterns, and versioning.
- Experience with Databricks Apps or equivalent application deployment platforms.
- Strong proficiency in DevOps practices, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management, including tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Experience collaborating with data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with multiple front-end frameworks and evaluating technical trade-offs is preferred.
- Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platform experience, SQL expertise, strong data literacy, and mentoring experience are preferred.
