Responsibilities
- Lead customer engagements by designing and presenting scalable cloud-native data engineering architectures and business outcomes.
- Provide domain expertise throughout the sales cycle, including proofs of concept, solution sizing, adoption, data preparation, CDC, streaming, and AI-readiness use cases.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in data pipelines and lead escalations to support customer success.
- Develop technical enablement materials, share best practices, and explore cloud-native streaming and batch technologies.
- Translate customer feedback and regional requirements into actionable product and engineering roadmap insights.
- Participate in community activities, speak at events, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams on customer success and product vision.
Requirements
- Experience leading and implementing mission-critical data use cases in enterprise industries.
- Experience designing, building, and deploying enterprise-grade data engineering pipelines and real-time streaming solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark, Airflow, Apache NiFi, Apache Flink, and Apache Kafka.
- Experience architecting production data deployments across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including data preparation, CDC, and large-scale ingestion.
- Experience running PoCs and MVPs through successful enterprise production deployments.
- Experience designing data-intensive use cases while addressing security, data quality, governance, and AI-readiness challenges.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to engage data engineers through senior executives.
- Ability to analyze customer workloads and define technical migration or modernization roadmaps.
- Pre-sales or technical consulting experience focused on big data and AI platform solutions is preferred.
- Experience with Confluent, Databricks, AWS EMR, or AWS Glue and customer migration strategies is preferred.
- Experience with DataOps, CI/CD for data pipelines, and automated data quality frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with open-source software and development practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cloudera Data Engineering, Cloudera DataFlow, and Shared Data Experience is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Confluent Certified Developer, or AWS Certified Data Analytics are preferred.
- Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, Kubernetes, and data engineering prerequisites for machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI is preferred.
