Base Salary
$110k - $120k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality, testable, and maintainable code for Flywire’s billing and payments system.
- Contribute to full-stack feature development supporting money movement for colleges and universities.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for code exploration, test scaffolding, rubber-ducking, and production-quality coding.
- Ensure security, quality, scalability, and performance are maintained during development.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams across the US and globally.
- Participate in solutioning discussions and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional experience in application development.
- Professional Java development experience and a proven production Java development track record.
- Understanding of relational databases, especially MySQL.
- Familiarity with Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, and Hibernate is preferred.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSP is preferred.
- Experience writing comprehensive tests using JUnit 5, Mockito, and AssertJ.
- Ability to learn new systems or legacy codebases quickly, manage time effectively, and take ownership of work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across time zones.
- Experience in FinTech or higher education and familiarity with student billing or tuition workflows are appreciated or advantageous.
