Responsibilities
- Define test strategies, coverage models, and acceptance criteria from functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and regression test suites.
- Develop C# test automation using BDD methodologies, Gherkin scenarios, and step definitions.
- Balance automated and manual testing, typically using a 70:30 automation-to-manual approach.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
- Test large datasets, data flows, data mappings, APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.
- Execute test cases, analyse results, and communicate defects, issues, and risks.
- Use approved AI-assisted tools for test design, exploratory testing, automation development, analysis, and reporting, while validating generated outputs.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders in Agile delivery teams.
- Drive continuous improvement while following development lifecycle and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in test automation engineering within Agile environments.
- Strong experience developing C# test automation and BDD frameworks.
- Experience building automated regression test packs and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and experience validating complex data structures and integrations.
- Experience testing APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering and testing tools.
- Knowledge of event-driven and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira, or similar application lifecycle management tools.
- Exposure to observability and monitoring platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience in energy, utilities, trading, or regulated enterprise environments is desirable.
