Responsibilities
- Own and deliver multi-team quarterly goals while aligning team objectives with organizational priorities.
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain scalable IN/SG payroll systems and supporting web platforms.
- Act as a multi-system architecture expert and manage on-call incidents, including incident command and postmortems.
- Build payroll capabilities including onboarding, tax and payroll calculations, third-party filing integrations, POI handling, and challan generation.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, cross-functional teams, and third-party systems to ship product features.
- Mentor engineers, lead small teams, participate in recruiting, and contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Experience building large-scale platforms for web applications.
- Experience leading cross-team projects requiring cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience mentoring and leading a small team of engineers.
- Expertise in Python and Django.
- Familiarity with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot independently.
- Exposure to frontend development with JavaScript is preferred.
