Base Salary
$102k - $202k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, extend, and operate multi-petabyte MPP database systems using platforms such as StarRocks, ClickHouse, Trino/Presto, Spark, Druid, and Kusto.
- Develop and improve database internals, including query execution, vectorized processing, cost-based optimization, and columnar storage formats.
- Work across services and performance-critical native code using Python, Java, Go, and C++.
- Engineer lakehouse systems using open table formats and cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes.
- Use AI-assisted development and agentic tooling, and build AI into production decision-making and operational systems.
- Own components end to end, shape architecture, make build-versus-adopt decisions, and collaborate with data scientists and product managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of coding and debugging experience in object-oriented languages is preferred, particularly C#, C++, or Java.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, StarRocks, ClickHouse, Kafka, Flink, Trino, real-time systems, or open-source data platforms is preferred.
- Experience with Python, SQL, cloud platforms such as Azure, data streaming, data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL is preferred.
- Experience designing, developing, and shipping code with secure continuous integration and continuous delivery practices is preferred.
- Data science, experimentation, or model-building adjacent experience and effective collaboration skills are preferred.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $102,100-$202,200 per year, with a separate range for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations.
