Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, deploy, and operate software across the full development lifecycle.
  • Build highly scalable and reliable tax calculation services for sales tax and VAT.
  • Operate complex, mission-critical systems handling hundreds of millions of records and millions of service requests per minute.
  • Maintain accurate tax computations and securely stored audit records supporting global tax-law requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers and peers across Amazon to deliver new features and solve business problems.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently are expected.
