Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a cloud-based platform for ingesting data from internal and external producers.
- Compute, aggregate, curate, and surface datasets for Workday applications, front-end components, AI/ML inference, and agentic workflows.
- Deliver services from code development through production deployment using cloud infrastructure, managed services, and orchestration tools.
- Create scalable service endpoints for data retrieval.
- Own production services, including logging, monitoring, metrics, production triage, and on-call support.
- Apply unit, system/integration, and end-to-end testing, feature toggles, and canary deployments.
- Collaborate with teammates to design, maintain, and improve object-oriented software.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or a related field; the Senior Software Engineer track requires 6+ years.
- At least 3 years of proficiency in at least two of Java, Scala, and Python.
- At least 3 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related field.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and managed services, including AWS or GCP.
- Experience with at least one data engineering technology such as Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, Kubernetes, or Terraform AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with production delivery, continuous integration, virtualization, orchestration, scalable services, observability, performance and scale, security, availability, deployment, and operations.
- Experience with AI code-generation tools such as ClaudeCode, Windsurf, or Cursor.
- Understanding of operating system concepts including memory and storage, threading and concurrency, networking and sockets, and process management.
Benefits
- Base pay for the Vancouver location is listed as $140,000 CAD to $210,000 CAD; the role may also be eligible for a bonus plan, role-specific commission or bonus, and annual refresh stock grants.
