Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for complex, cross-team credit-domain initiatives from problem framing through production operation.
- Design and build high-volume distributed services handling sensitive financial data with strong reliability, latency, and correctness guarantees.
- Identify and resolve high-leverage technical problems across organizational boundaries.
- Partner with product, data science, analytics, and risk teams to translate ambiguous goals into technical plans.
- Improve engineering quality through design reviews, code reviews, testing strategy, observability, and incident response practices.
- Mentor engineers and help senior engineers develop broader technical judgment.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and influence platform and tooling decisions affecting adjacent teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant senior- or staff-level experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of large-scale distributed systems in production, including design, scaling, and operational responsibility.
- Track record of cross-team technical leadership through design and persuasion rather than authority.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices at team or organizational level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to product and business partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
