Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for flagship machine learning and advanced data science projects across the organisation.
- Design scalable, complex systems that integrate with existing software and enterprise architectures.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements and software architecture for large-scale platforms.
- Solve high-level technical challenges spanning multiple projects, business units, and client ecosystems.
- Provide expert advice on strategic initiatives to teams and senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to company strategy by identifying emerging technologies and innovative practices.
- Mentor and foster the growth of the engineering team.
Requirements
- Deep technical expertise in machine learning, statistics, and advanced data science methodologies, with a specific focus on the Defence domain.
- Proven experience designing large, complex, and scalable systems within organisational frameworks.
- Experience providing architectural leadership and defining functional and non-functional software requirements.
- Ability to provide expert guidance and collaborate across multiple initiatives.
- Experience as a technical leader guiding teams and architecting systems with minimal oversight.
- Ability to set strategic technical direction and influence high-impact engineering projects.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for team growth and technological innovation.
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at the SC level.
Benefits
- Work 2 to 4 days per week on-site with Defence customers, with possible travel throughout the UK.
- When not required on client sites, work from the London office or remotely elsewhere within the UK.
- Part-time hours may be discussed.
- The interview process includes a talent team screen, role introduction, pair programming interview, system design interview, and commercial and leadership interview.
