Senior Software Engineer - Java Fullstack, Officer
State StreetResponsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement large and complex software enhancements and solutions.
- Modify core frameworks and primary facilities critical to system operation.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create sustainable solutions for complex problems.
- Provide technical leadership and thought leadership in product architecture and advanced software problem solving.
- Develop cloud-native, enterprise software using Java and related software engineering languages.
- Write unit and automation tests and conduct manual testing to ensure product quality.
- Improve development and test methodologies and contribute to related testing frameworks.
- Troubleshoot large, mission-critical client implementations.
- Participate in and advance the agile software development process, including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Coordinate cross-team activities and mentor junior staff as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Minimum 9+ years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise Java, including Collections API, concurrency, multithreading, JDBC, and web services.
- At least 6 years of experience designing and developing highly transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
- At least 6 years of cloud-native application development experience on one or more cloud-native platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- At least 8 years of experience with Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and cloud databases.
- Extensive experience with RDBMS technologies including Oracle and SQL Server, transactional database concepts, and complex, high-performance SQL.
- Experience designing and developing simple solutions to highly complex business and technical problems and multi-tiered, high-performance database applications.
- UI development experience with C#, React, and JavaScript is preferred.
- Financial trading systems experience is a strong plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with peers.
- Understanding of Agile development methodology and software development practices and principles.
