Base Salary

$120k - $261k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable, reliable backend and distributed data systems for large-scale processing and business-critical scenarios.
  • Drive technical architecture across backend services, data platforms, storage, and processing systems.
  • Translate product and data requirements into scalable technical designs and integration strategies with stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Develop, debug, optimize, and evolve production systems to improve throughput, latency, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
  • Optimize performance and cost across backend services, distributed data platforms, storage systems, and high-volume data pipelines.
  • Improve live-site reliability through monitoring, observability, capacity planning, fault tolerance, performance, and operational practices.
  • Lead complex technical investigations and production incidents across engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers and promote software engineering and data engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master's degree and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or a bachelor's degree and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with a background in backend or full-stack development.
  • Experience designing and building scalable distributed systems, high-throughput services, telemetry systems, and large-scale data processing solutions.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with data engineering, including large-scale data pipelines, data platforms, storage, or distributed data processing.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and understanding of software engineering principles.
