Base Salary
$100k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting for data platforms and resolve issues affecting data pipelines and storage.
- Develop automation for deployment, monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Optimize data storage, query performance, data flows, latency, and processing speed.
- Respond to data platform incidents, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate cross-team resolutions.
- Forecast capacity needs and scale infrastructure to support data growth.
- Document data platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures and provide team training.
- Maintain security and compliance standards for data platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineering, data science, product, and development teams on reliability-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or Data Operations Engineer.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern data architectures, including Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, HDFS, and AWS S3.
- Extensive database management experience with NoSQL databases, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and related infrastructure automation tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, large-scale distributed systems, containerization, microservices architecture, and data quality, governance, or ETL pipelines.
- Programming proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Scala for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar monitoring and log management tools.
- Strong production troubleshooting and debugging skills and the ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bonus experience with Aerospike, Kafka, Snowflake, audience targeting, and Identity services product support.
