Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions end-to-end.
- Assess whether agent responses are useful, correct at a high level, and aligned with strong engineering judgment.
- Evaluate the quality of explanations, preambles, and reasoning—not only syntax or code correctness.
- Distinguish between different levels of response quality and provide clear feedback on what worked, failed, or felt misleading.
- Help define what excellent interactions look like when using coding tools such as Cursor.
- Judge whether agent interactions guide users effectively and build developer trust.
Requirements
- Staff/Principal-level software engineer or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience using OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.
- Deep familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows.
- Ability to evaluate code without fully executing or deeply reviewing every line.
- Comfort providing direct, opinionated feedback and making subjective but rigorous judgments.
- High standards for engineering quality.
- Experience with Cursor or similar AI-first IDEs is preferred.
- Prior exposure to prompt design or evaluation workflows is preferred.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers or defining engineering standards is preferred.
