Base Salary
$122k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Act as the resident Fastly architect, technical advocate, and customer representative for assigned strategic accounts.
- Develop technical relationships and understand each customer’s teams, infrastructure, plans, and challenges.
- Perform post-sales implementation of Fastly products, including logging endpoints, image optimization, and VCL coding.
- Document customer configurations to support troubleshooting and ongoing engagement.
- Investigate and recommend improvements to customer implementations and use of Fastly’s technology stack.
- Identify opportunities to introduce Fastly products that meet customer needs.
- Partner internally on customer strategies and support requests.
- Participate in customer meetings, cadence calls, and Quarterly Business Reviews on-site or remotely.
- Track and report customer account health and provide regular updates to Client Services leadership.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of pre-sales or post-sales experience in Sales Engineering, Web Development, customer-facing DevOps Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Solutions Architecture.
- Hands-on willingness to use the keyboard to address customer issues and requests.
- Understanding of networking concepts including BGP, Internet routing, transit, and peering.
- Understanding of HTTP/S, TCP, TLS, DNS, HLS, DASH, load balancing, Apache, and NGINX.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and scripting languages or tools such as Python, Sed, Awk, Perl, JSON, Ruby, Go, and Node.js.
- Experience with Internet and cloud-based architecture, bare-metal deployments, and AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Ability to present and lead customer presentations and training for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong empathy, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, feedback, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to outline technical deliverables and business impact for business stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to travel for customer meetings as necessary.
- Experience with Varnish and Varnish Configuration Language is valued.
- Experience with streaming video/audio or e-commerce technologies and solutions is valued.
- Experience in the CDN or cloud computing industries is valued.
