$225k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive technical strategy and architecture across major product areas.
- Lead technical design, refinement, implementation, and risk reduction for complex, high-impact initiatives.
- Mentor engineers at all levels and raise engineering standards across the team.
- Contribute to code reviews and reinforce code quality and maintainability.
- Lead design reviews, product retrospectives, and other team ceremonies.
- Conduct technical interviews and help evolve engineering hiring standards.
- Drive alignment on key technical decisions with engineers and stakeholders.
- Identify and address architectural risks, technical debt, process problems, and scalability concerns.
- Advocate for appropriate technologies and patterns and organize green-field development for new products.
- Use artificial intelligence as a development force multiplier while exercising sound technical judgment.
Requirements
- Meaningful experience as a senior software engineer focused on full-stack web development.
- Experience serving as a technical leader for complex, high-impact engineering initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor experienced engineers and raise engineering standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate technical thoughts and decisions.
- Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale applications where data architecture and query performance were primary concerns.
- Advanced working knowledge of PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, and MySQL, or equivalent experience with Ruby, Node.js, React, Angular, Ember, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Interest in making a substantial contribution to the growth of the product, team, and company.
- Willingness to work in a hands-on, heavy code contribution role as an individual contributor rather than an engineering manager.
