Responsibilities
- Own complex features and system components end to end, from technical design and API specifications through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, containerized Java Spring Boot microservices.
- Build high-performance APIs and event-driven integrations with firm-wide control systems.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on APIs supporting React or Angular micro-frontend applications.
- Work with technical leadership on architectural patterns, technical alignment, and the scrum team roadmap.
- Mentor junior developers through guidance, code reviews, and software design best practices.
- Use AI-powered development tools and code analyzers to improve development velocity and code quality.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on software development experience building production-grade backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java 17 or above and deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Redis, software design patterns, and foundational SQL.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, containerization, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture and RESTful API development best practices.
- Experience mentoring junior developers and driving technical alignment within an agile team.
- Familiarity with Python and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular is preferred.
- Strong ownership, independent senior individual-contributor capability, and clear written and verbal communication are required.
- A bachelor's or university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
- Experience in financial services or another large, complex global environment is highly desirable.
- Interest in or experience with AI-assisted development tools is preferred.
