Responsibilities
- Partner with commercial and transformation leaders to translate strategic backlogs and milestones into scalable technical architectures.
- Own the technical vision and architectural roadmap for React Native mobile apps and the web rebuild.
- Design effective handoffs between discovery, prototyping, and permanent production engineering.
- Evaluate and validate external agency technical proposals and platform integrations.
- Own CI/CD release pipelines, high-availability monitoring, production support, and live application health.
- Set engineering standards and code-governance frameworks for distributed developers across Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.
- Define and implement an AI-first engineering blueprint, including guardrails, tooling, and workflows for autonomous AI coding agents.
- Author core infrastructure, build complex API connectors, write production code, and rapidly prototype MVPs and feature guardrails.
- Connect the commercial technology stack with wider group API and open-banking ecosystems.
- Align AI and data integrations with commercial telemetry and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Hands-on technical leadership experience spanning architecture, production software delivery, and distributed engineering teams.
- Experience designing and delivering cross-platform web and mobile applications, including React Native environments.
- Ability to own production reliability, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, release processes, and platform stability.
- Strong software engineering capability with experience building infrastructure, API integrations, production code, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Ability to establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, and repeatable delivery models.
- Experience evaluating agency or external vendor technical proposals and integrating systems into broader enterprise platforms.
- Ability to work closely with commercial, architecture, cloud security, data, and AI governance stakeholders.
- Curiosity, collaboration, coaching ability, comfort with ambiguity, and a strong focus on measurable user and business impact.
