Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications, platform capabilities, and integrations.
- Own complex technical deliverables from solution design through production implementation and support.
- Develop applications and services with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, ServiceNow, APIs, web services, and modern integration patterns.
- Build and maintain integrations among enterprise platforms, APIs, data sources, and internal or external systems.
- Develop and enhance ServiceNow or comparable enterprise application platform solutions, including workflow automation and reusable platform capabilities.
- Participate in solution architecture, technical design, code reviews, and engineering discussions.
- Apply automated testing, source control, CI/CD, observability, security, and production-readiness practices.
- Troubleshoot application, platform, integration, performance, and production issues and improve scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and engineering productivity.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, security teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards, reusable patterns, and development practices.
- Explore GenAI and agentic capabilities for enterprise applications, workflows, and user experiences.
Requirements
- Significant experience in software engineering, application development, or enterprise platform development.
- Strong programming experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or comparable languages.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, web services, JSON-based interfaces, and system integrations.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, application architecture, data models, and integration patterns.
- Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production and integration issues.
- Understanding of secure software development, authentication and authorization, application security, and production reliability.
- Ability to independently own complex technical problems from analysis through implementation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- ServiceNow development experience is highly desirable, including App Engine, scoped applications, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, platform architecture, configuration, ITSM, CMDB, employee workflows, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- ServiceNow CSA, CAD, or related certifications are preferred.
- Additional preferred experience includes enterprise integration architecture, cloud-native applications, API-first architectures, integration platforms, DevOps and automated deployment, event-driven architectures, AI/GenAI-enabled applications, agentic applications, AI orchestration, MCP, and highly available secure enterprise applications.
