Responsibilities
- Develop platform systems that make it easier to implement, test, validate, and release algorithm-heavy Oura app features.
- Improve the reliability and compute efficiency of algorithm execution across mobile and cloud environments.
- Build abstractions, data stores, and synchronization protocols that move data between the mobile application and AWS cloud.
- Enable feature teams to develop end-to-end features while promoting standardized schemas, data quality, and data lifetime management.
- Design performant, scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient systems serving millions of active users and petabytes of data.
- Build excellent internal developer tooling and collaborate across mobile and backend platform teams.
Requirements
- Previous experience solving challenging technical problems and demonstrating strong software fundamentals.
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, databases, testing, system design, and API design.
- Ability to own projects, design technical solutions, drive implementation, and deliver results with limited guidance.
- Ability to produce high-quality code quickly, including with and without AI tools.
- Strong value orientation, communication skills, teamwork, motivation to learn, and ability to develop skills further.
- Relevant knowledge may include iOS or Android development, performance optimization and profiling, database schema design and query optimization, distributed systems, cloud backend systems, ML or MLOps, Python, and C, C++, or Rust.
