Responsibilities
- Design and implement test cases, test plans, regression strategies, and release-readiness criteria for Service Assurance products.
- Develop and maintain API-based, functional, UI, and end-to-end automated tests for large-scale distributed systems.
- Build deployment, configuration, orchestration, and performance-monitoring automation for test environments and applications.
- Deploy containerized applications and orchestrate reliable execution of automated test suites.
- Generate release-quality reports and communicate test status, risks, and readiness to stakeholders.
- Work with product management to clarify requirements, estimate work, and plan deliverables.
- Perform hands-on lab activities involving hardware connections, test-environment setup, basic network configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Define QA automation and quality-gate best practices, support defect triage and root-cause analysis, and mentor junior QA engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience as an SQA Engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
- Experience designing and developing automation tools and maintainable frameworks for large-scale distributed applications.
- Strong knowledge of shell scripting, Python, Perl, Java, REST API integration testing, and TestNG.
- Extensive Linux and networking experience, including Sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, and gNMI.
- Experience with Ansible, Docker, SQL and NoSQL databases, CI testing workflows, Zephyr, and Jira.
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and deploying containerized applications.
- Experience debugging failures across UI, API, and environment layers and selecting appropriate test automation approaches.
- Experience with software security and vulnerability scans, preferably in Cable, Telecom, or RF domains.
- Experience with CMTS, Cable Modems, RF impairments, Selenium WebDriver, BrowserStack, and Playwright is preferred.
- Strong systems experience building and maintaining Linux virtual machines and supporting light DevOps activities in Linux-based environments.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture and Microsoft Azure or AWS deployments is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, leadership, and mentoring skills.
